1. This is a PG-13 rated fan board. There are teens that read and post here. If you post anything make sure you type the rating of the thread.
2. No spamming the board. Spamming is repeatedly posting after yourself in a thread or the same topic over and over.
• If you want to post something in a thread that you just posted in, and no one has posted after you, EDIT your post. Do NOT post again.
• Do NOT post “I agree”s, emoticons, or other 1-3 word posts in a discussion thread. That too IS spamming. It’s pointless and unnecessary.
3. Respect your fellow Buffy fans/members.
• There will be no name calling.
• There will be no flaming (personal attacks on or insults toward other members)
• There will be no derogatory remarks about other members’ posts (e.g. referring to members’ comments, argument, or opinions as stupid, lame, etc.)
• When The Buffy Bite moderators or administrators are speaking officially on the board, or being addressed officially by the members, no snide, snarky or rude comments toward, or bashing of The Buffy Bite, the board, or the decisions of The Buffy Bite, will be tolerated in any forum.
4. Do NOT Direct Link to other people’s web sites for pictures.
• What is Direct Linking?
- Finding a picture you like on another web site; copying the URL address; and using it in your posts, personal pictures, or signatures.
• Why is that a bad thing?
- Because people spend money to have web space on the Internet; they also have bandwidth limits that are monitored, and are charged more money if they exceed their bandwidth
• What is Bandwidth?
- Bandwidth is the time it takes to transmit, from a web space, to your computer. The more pictures you have, the more time it takes; which equals more bandwidth.
•So, what does that mean?
- That means that EVERYTIME a member of this board goes to read a post, and you have a picture from someone else’s web space, it charges the original host to load it. EVERYTIME! Look how many registered members there are on this board. That’s a LOT of loading. So, PLEASE be considerate to your favorite sites out there.
• Don’t link to someone else’s picture!
- There are many free image hosts to use, for example Photobucket.com and imageshack.com. You can use those to host your images.
4. Please try to only have ONE ID on The Buffy Bites.
• Posting under more than one ID is deceptive to the other members of the board. So if you have more than one ID, pick one them to continue posting here.
• If you just like to read the forum that is fine, you don’t have to be a member to do that. But there is a one user id rule per person.
• You can change your look of your name by changing the display name but please do not create multiple id’s.
5. Trolling will not be tolerated.
• Trolling consists of purposefully posting a thread with the intent to cause trouble on the board.
• Any post that is deemed “trollish” will be deleted and the poster will be given a warning. It is also possible for a troll to be immediately banned without any warnings, depending on the severity of the offense.
6. While it is okay to criticize their work, no personal bashing of the actors or actresses. Malicious gossip and rumors are discouraged.
7. No stalker-like behavior towards the stars or any of the members will be tolerated. Stalking includes seeking out the person's personal address, phone number, work place, or attempting to track the individual down in person. If this occurs, PM me immediately.
8. If you want to speak on a ruling or action by The Buffy Bite, or an action by a member, please post it in the Complaint Forum, in order to avoid future disruption of the original thread discussion. Do not post it on the thread where it happened.
9. Let the STAFF do their job. Staff means any Admin or Mod. Members who are not part of Staff should NOT act like a staff member. This means, enless a reminder or warning is given out by a Mod or Admin, then it is not valid. Also, saying that threads should be locked, moved or deleted without a staff member's consent would be violating this rule. Members can SUGGEST that if they feel that a thread has been misplaced and a staff member has overlooked it, but they cannot instruct anyone to do so. If any member violates this rule, a reminder or warning will be given out.
10. Follow any rules that specific forums may have.
11. Administrators and Moderators are the “enforces” The Buffy Bites. They are the ones who will make decisions regarding the rules of the board. If you have an issue with a moderator or admin, post your complaint in the complaint forum or the issue will not be acknowledged.
• Admins and Mods will enforce the above rules regardless of personal feelings.
• No thread will be locked based on an email or personal feelings. They will only be locked based on the breaking of the rules, or if the threads only purpose is to cause trouble and discontent.
• No thread will be moved based on email or personal feelings.
• If a thread is moved, or edited based on the above rules, an explanation must be included by the moderator or administrator who did it.
• If a thread breaks out into a fight, it will be moved to Archives immediately. If warnings are warranted, they will be given out.
• Let the STAFF do their job. Staff means any Admin or Mod. Members who are not part of Staff should NOT act like a staff member. This means, unless a reminder or warning is given out by a Mod or Admin, then it is not valid.
